Hi does anyone know more or less how much it will cost to catch up and renewing a Chana bakkie that has a expired license disk for 4 years? Penalties and all please?

The penalties for late licensing are calculated at 10% per month – with a maximum of 100% per annum. (Regulation 57(1) National Road Traffic Regulations)

IN ADDITION the arrear licensing fees are calculated one-twelfth per month and are added to the total payable. (Regulation 59(1) National Road Traffic Regulations)

A lot, it will basically be every year x2 x4.

Somewhere around R3500-R4000. Depends on the fee per year, which is different for different size vehicles and different provinces.

Car make does not matter. Maybe they will ask you for one road worthy test.

Roadworthy Tests remain valid on eNatis system for 60 days. It is only required during a Change Of Ownership transaction. It is not required if a current owner renews the (long) expired licence disk.
