Cruising down the N1 this afternoon at 110km/h, the sun peeking out between the clouds, clear road, Gotan Project thumping away, a white Porsche coming up on my right and BMW not far behind.

Porsche eases its way past me effortlessly, BMW behind it moving along like a shark cruising the ocean depths - slipstream in behind them and we glide along, slipping along on a cushion of air.

Clear road, we stick to around 120 with slight acceleration in between - bliss.

Eventually hit traffic and we all slow down, look at each other, small smiles and acknowledgement of each other via nod of the chin...

Damn, life is good and I'm glad to be alive, here and now.

I've decided to try being a man for the next little while...all it takes is a name change, right? ;)

Nah! They were smiling - no one was driving fast - was just sheer joy shared with two anonymous strangers and it was good - one of those serendipitous moments that occur so rarely in this grey, grim, joyless, greedy, venal society / world that we live in.

They both knew that with the lightest touch on their accelerator pedals they'd be far, far away but they chose to just cruise along.

I tell you, you had to be there - I imagine that fish feel this way when moving through the ocean.

You lot ain't spoiling my moment of bliss
