LIFEPO4 Battery discussion thread

What are you charging to? How will you know when its 100%? Are you only putting a load on bat 4? How do you measure the Ah?

I have bypassed the other batteries now and only have bat4 on the inverter. I'm charging it at 0.2c and once it cuts off the battery is full or there is an imbalance. So, I will have to measure the cell voltages to see.

How will I measure the Ah probably just add a load and see what I can get or how fast it dies to get a very rough estimate.

What voltage is that?

Just charge to 56V, let it absorb for an hour and then test load. I wouldn't try charge to cut off, maybe shitty bms isn't cutting off soon enough hence the swollen cells.

I'm charging at 55.4v

I had bought myself this. But from Temu for 400 rand. Very well built and all my battery connections are solid coz of it. One handed crimpers are toys for any cable over 10mm2.

got this for me

Update on my batteries. So yes unfortunately Battery 3 with its problem 6s Cell08 is the problem. It's also hitting the high voltage cutoff so that cell or a cell in that pack that makes up cell08 is weak. It looks like it needs replacing.

Battery 2 which is the newest of the bunch the Ecco. I can't get bms tools to work with it. AI isn't helping much because this is a pace bms with no dip switches so can't set pack address etc so can't get access to reduce the balancer start voltage to 3.45v per cell so I'm trying to balance it today by sitting just before the ovp cutoff and see how far I can get.

Wasting pv now but if I can get more balance then the goal is reached for today.

Battery4. Status unknown I'm charging it the same as these ones but i have no stats to share I'm just using my clamp meter to check current and pack voltage. I need to open it up to see what each cell voltage will be.

6p not 6s :P

Also, I would just live with the 20Ah loss rather than cutting and welding new cells in. I also have a suspicion those other cells with threaded terminals wont even fit in the pack due to the height.

What voltage is bat 3 hitting OVP?

Good strategy with bat 2.

Ohh yes 6p not s.

Bat 3 cuts off at 54.0v and rests at 53.5v.

Battery 4 the cfe one is now connected and I'm trying to top balance that one. It looks to be in a better state than battery 3 to be honest but the lack of comms and info is frustrating me.

Maybe get one of these and put bat 3 on at 53.9V for a day, then increase as balancer brings imbalance down?
