After a month of waiting for a Telkom technician to fix my intermittant ADSL fault, one finally showed up - on Friday night!

I know many folks here don't want to hear this, but this guy seemed like he knew what he was doing. He was very efficiant and fast. I do feel for these after hours techs, they have a huge backlog, they have to fix everything, including the screw-ups of various other technicians.

Anyway, after discussing the problem with him he told me he knew exactly what the problem might be - and withing 10 minutes he replaced the "dslam port card thingamajig" at the exchange. Works like a dream now. He came to the house to test all my lines to make sure everything was in good shape. I really felt confident in the guys abilities.

So there.... just saying there is hope. It might take months, but there are some good techs out there after all.

We DO wanna hear news like this Red_Crow! :)

We just want to hear about it every day instead of once in a blue moon. Truth be told, the techies are probably not the problem. They are obviously too few to tackle the whole country efficiently, thanks to Telkom's agressive layoffs.

Telkom management is the problem.
