I don't see them in Cape Town. They are compulsory in Europe BTW.

Ye.. you guys don't really have lightening.

On the highveld we have lots... if you have a thatched roof then I think that you are required to have one by law.

Haven't seen them. I want to install one for that once-per-year lightning storm we get.

We include an extensive lightning protection installation in our electrical designs for every single new building we do. It's required by the safety act.
