Lightroom alternatives?

Nevermind:

I'm hoping this is just some bad wording because it makes no sense! Current one on App Store doesn't have this limitation:

Designed exclusively for macOS, Pixelmator Pro supports almost every major macOS feature and integrates seamlessly with macOS Sequoia

I rolled the dice and bought it.

First impression is that I'll be able to use it in place of Photoshop (which expires in a few days anyway).

EDIT: I bought the standalone version which is compatible with Sequoia. I'm have no intention of upgrading to Tahoe any time soon.

So Apple killed off the standalone version. What a joke. No one wants to pay a monthly subscription.
Que?

As far as I can tell Apple hasn’t killed off any of the standalone apps that form their new Creator Studio.

They haven’t updated the standalone version to v4.
No, not yet but how does that equate to them killing it off?

I have little doubt that 3.7.1 is the latest I'll get unless I upgrade to Tahoe, because version 4 lists it as a requirement, but I'd be surprised if they don't ever roll out an update.

What's wrong with MacOS Tahoe, does it break some app you need?

Like Smiggles says, it doesn't play nicely with my version of Photo Mechanic. It's a horrible app, but I need it, so I'm stuck with it.

I blame Apple for killing Aperture.

Here's an interesting take - legally using LR for the DAM for free and Affinity Photo for the editing, I'd imagine you could also use a different editor in stead of Affinity Photo but use the same workflow.

  • The Library Superpower: Why the Library module is Lightroom’s real superpower—and how it stays free even after you cancel your subscription.
  • The Bridge: How to legally keep using Lightroom’s world-class organization alongside Affinity Photo (which is now completely free to download and use).

Interesting, pity I've already deleted LR. :o

On an unrelated note that guy could cure insomnia.

Turns out Lightroom Mobile is also free (as long as you don't want to edit raw files amongst other things). I've been taking my ipad along for social media work and it's been great.
