Lightscribe software

Hi,

Just got a Lightscribe drive and bought a few CDs to test it out, but there's no free software for it (other than the very simple one on the site).

Am I blind or does someone out there have free software to create pictures etc?

Doesn't the Nero Software Package that comes with these drives include the Lightscribe software

Thing is I had them build up the PC and they seem to have left out the CD :/ I'll speak to them tomorrow about it - but I thought I'd be able to download something better anyway

Nero Cover Designer (comes with Nero express) can burn Lightscribe labels.

Droppix label maker is also excellent - google the cr***(censored).

Nero Express and/or Cover Design aren't free and as I never got the CD that came with the drive, I have neither :/ I'm going to try phone now.

Likewise for Droppix :/ All I see are 'buy now' ...

..insist on the CD. As mentioned above, you do get it with the writer if it was a retail package (not sure about OEM). Nero 6 iirc but it does have Nero Cover designer included.
What Lightscribe drive did you get?

They opened now (9:00) so I'll give em a call. It's a Samsung unit (no idea of model) ...

Go to the official lightscribe website.Download the latest drivers and included in the software is a free labelling program

Got the CD (Nero) and much better ... can add photos etc and design the cover.

The free software on the Lightscribe site allows you to add text labels and a small pattern only. You need the software from the manufacturer.
