Hey everyone,

Do any of you know how to get Limewire working correctly with Iburst? I'm able to download, but only at 20kB/s max. I know Iburst is shaped to death, but can this be avoided?

By a proxy service. I'm not sure about the details...but there are a few guys hanging around here that uses them.

You ge ta free service, but it was recently changed to only working for the first half of the month, im not shure about it at all anymore, it is run my Mr.Beep (On these forums) of Openweb.

There is the same service which you can pay for, thats all on Openweb.co.za I think. Probably on hte forum section.

Ja, i guess its made for ADSL.. but are you shure about that speed? You might bethinking about another service of thier, they have alot, but I really doubt they would limit their proxy that you pay for to 192kb, the free one was even full speed.

These things are hosted in the USA, so speed isnt a problem.

I'm not sure that I want to pay extra for a proxy. I'm already paying R700 + for my connection.

Ja, just las it. 20kb is infact enough, youve only got a 3gig cap to burn , so not much need to go faster really. P2P content isnt usually the type of stuff you realy have to have right now, just let it run over night or something if you want to download a movie or anything.

20KB/s seems quite good for the shaped G3 package. You should only be getting 8KB/s if it is shaped. Have you paid for your Limeware or are you using the freeware version? The "pro" version is not very expensive and downloads much faster.

*coughwww.phazeddl.comcough*

pro version = free

Soory but i wouldnt pay a P2P service money just to go faster... If I had to I wouldnt be using it.

Cough. Cough.

But you know, when the cost of registering software is reasonable, and I use the software often, I see no problem in rewarding the developers.

Oh, neither do I, I mean they work very hard for those programs.

But I have no money, really, to pay these guys, if I registered all of my software and paid the $20 or so for everythign I used I would be very limited and probably have about 2 apps on my PC.

Maby one day when I have money and a credit card I will pay for this stuff.

The price usually isnt too bad, but seriously I cant afford it, most people can and get warez stuff anyway... Not like im any better..

This is going to sound crazy, but my cousin actually downloaded the PRO version via the Free one. It downloads at the same rate really, except that you get a "Turbo Charged" connection.

I also see no point in paying for a P2P program as the free version is just as good.

I downloaded the pro version as well. It has a better connection, but the dowloading speed is exactly the same as the free one.

I dont see how the pro version can download faster anyways, its p2p after all.

PS. I gave up with Limewire with Ibust. Just doesnt work for me.

Yes, apparently it does. The G9 package is unshaped so it should work fine.

But R1300 a month is a bit to expensive to get Limewire to work. hehe

I think no P2P application will work well with Iburst. Maybe the G9 package does? Anyone here who has it?

Yes. Limewire works fine on G9. G9 is R1099pm month to month.

R500pm to get Limewire working would be extreme, but you do get an extra 6Gb at full speed and no shaping. :D

I would love an extra 6GB, actually 8GB for me.

But between Iburst and Multichoice, I am already spending allot of money.

So I quess Limewire is gonna have to wait.
