Scenario:
My home network is wired & wireless. All computers/Laptops can share files, & internet is also shared.

Question:
I want to limit the amount of internet time spent on one of the Laptops (connecting Wirelessly) to 1 hour a day (1 or more sessions totaling to 1 hour – timer not scheduling)

Can this be done without affecting the rest of the network? Can this be done by settings on either the laptop or hardware settings? Can this be done using IP address, if so- How?

Equipment:
Netgear FS608 Switch
Netgear WG102 Wireless Access Point
Laptop WinXP SP2 with (D-Link DWL-G630 Wireless LAN PC Card)

Any Advise would be greatly appreciated

Im sure there is, well it depends on the amount of time and effort you want to put into it...

I had a similar setup, I use IPCOP as my firewall and I got the Traffic control and report plugin, it limits on bandwidth, that is what I was after but there was a schedule thing IIRC.

So check out IPCOP its free as in beer, and has loads of plugins, but it is an entire system you will need a spare computer to install it on, however it can be an old PC, i am running mine on a 400mhz celeron with 256mb ram.

I'm running a Smoothwall at work, which also has the timed access feature, but is not exactly what P1570l is looking for:o.
