Hey guys

Should I get 4096 on this? I keep keep line drops and am not sure if it's my equipment or the actual line.

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 14.0 dB 13 dB
Line Attenuation 48.0 dB 26.5 dB

Those are really good stats, u should be able to get at least 2048, but wat speed are u on at the moment?

Telkom has been experiencing lots of problems over the last week, so it may just be temporary..

I'm on 4096 but i've been suffering from line sync issues for a few days.

scuze my ignorance

should it not be the other way round?

for SNR ds - as high as possible
for L Att ds - as low as possible

thanks in advance

edit - I was actually upgraded this afternoon to 4096, but results have been ****e [imho] - hey are my stats [without derailing original request] :-)

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 29.0 14.0 db
Line Attenuation : 22.5 12.5 db
Data Rate : 4096 384 kbps

Those are not the best stats... but according to the Fremnet calculator using your 48 dB downstream line attention, your attainable rate should be around 5329Kbps max. Your distance to exchange (Meters) is about 3476.

Unfortunately, your 14 dB SNR is quite low which could indicate a line problem, lots of noise etc.
(SNR = Signal to noise ratio - signal is good noise is bad, so the higher SNR you have, the more stable the connection.)

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for.
