Hey all

Im looking for some advice. My Exchange got upgraded to 10 mb at the begining of the month... Alls good till my line starts droping and my speed becomes absolutely terrible.

I check my line Attenuation and its sitting on 55db... Which is terrible. So i call up telkom, first thing they do is drop my speed to 4mb, well cool atleast i dont get dc so much but its still happens every now and then. So the technician says he will create a call and get my line attenuation sorted. So I start calling daily and getting told they want to come to my place and look (no 1 every called me), or they looking at the exchange. Eventaully i get told they closed the call??? So i was like you guys wanted to come to my place and check it out. They tell me no, sorry we cant give you 10mb only 4. I argued saying well every day i call some1 says it can be fixed, now it cant, (probably all that needs to be done is they repunch my line in the cronblocks on the way to the exchange). So i bitch and say well i pay the same amount as every1 else why my i be stuck at 4mb. Sneaky russians have covered there asses by saying you only pay for 1mb and the rest is free, so no guarantee on the speed.

Anyway so im stuck, if my attenuation was higher than 60db they would come fix but its not. So my line dc every now and then, and they wont do anything about it. Any1 have any idea of how to get them out to fix it. Or another company that can do this?

Thanks

Look for one of the threads about the escalation team at telkom, they have an email address where you send your problem to and well, apparently they sort it out.
