Hi All.

I would like to ask everyone reading this the following: Why does my Telscum router keep on disconnecting??? It will disconnect an averge of +/- 50 times a DAY! The DSL link light just starts flashing, then I have to wait anything between 2 and 30 mins for it to reconnect. Can anyone shed some light about this topic and problem?

Regards,

Me.

Faulty router or faulty line - both can be checked out by the Telkrap techies - tell them to bring along a router for testing and/or replacement of your current unit, if proven to be faulty...

Thanks mbs. I will call the Telscum technicals and while I wait for them to eventually come, I might as well go oversease and travel the world seeing that they will NOT come tomorrow. I will take a bet with anyonw here to prove me wrong. 56k, I feel 4 u man.

Cheers all.

The Frank!

Got new router dg 814 netgear still have the same prob.
so it must be the line.

If you guys are in the same area, being serviced by the same exchange/distribution point, tell Telkrap to check there - may be a failing DSLAM. Another pointer is if the voice quality of your lines is exceedingly poor...

I live in Bronberrick in Centurion, Pretoria. Where do u live 56k?

Cape Town. Do you have a alarm connected to ur phone line and do u have a filter on it.

All of the above may be correct. I had the same problem, eventually turned out to be a faulty lightning protector though. Take your line DIRECTLY from the socket to the modem, and check if it is still disconnecting. I dont use the LP's any longer - Just make sure to turn off your compie and unplug the line during summertime (thunderstorms!).
