Line Disconnections

Hi All,

Just wanted to know if anybody has had any disconnections in the last 3 days.

My ADSL goes down for about 20-30 minutes then up for a few hours.

I phoned telkom and obviously they are having no problems.

I'm on the olivedale exchange.
 
Experienced the same problem with ADSL 512K since last week Friday.

Area: Newlands, Cape Town
 
Do you have POTS microfilters on all your phones? that was my problem. It still disconnects about once a week though. Try PPPoE
 
Have filters everywhere ....
Am using IPCop firewall ....
Upgraded firmware to the billion modem ...

Just spoke to the woman @ telkom and she said that basically if my line is syncing ... they don't care ...

And I can get a telkom techie to come out for R140 callout, but he'll look at it say it's working and leave ....
 
I don't think it is just ADSL which is the problem. My 2MB ISDN pri line is going up and down like a yoyo! After 4 years of almost perfect uptime all of a sudden it as unstable as can be.
 
ok .. count down today is 8 times so far ....
I tried resetting, on diffrent computers ... evrything I could think of ...

I hope this is a temporary thing
