Line down LCD TV

Ummm guys, just wanna ask a question if anyone knows.

I got me an lcd tv ad just a few days ago a small line appeared slightly right from the middle of the screen. its about 10cm long and vertically down and its kinda grey in color.

Well I left it since its not really noticeable, but now its like 2 cm longer, forked at the end and slightly widened.

A friend said it might be a cracked screen....but how the hell does glass crack if its just stands there!? And the crack lengthens and widens on its own...???

The lines appears as soon as the tv is switched on...anyone with any experience with these things tell me some good news please

Else its...replace panel which costs as much as tv :'(

Have u felt it to see if indeed it is damaged? Cos AFAIK lcd's arent glass?

Do you have DSTV?

In that case, check that its not only when watching DTSV that the grey line appears cos i've seen quite a few people with a grey line at the bottom of their screen - which is a problem from DSTV side not on the TV itself...try watchin a dvd or something

If you dont have DSTV or if ur LCD is indeed glass, ignore me..
