Hi All,

I have a quick question on the setup ... if it matters at all ...

Option 1:

Wall Socket 1 -> Surge protector -> ADSL
Wall Socket 2 -> Surge Protector -> POTS Filter -> Phone

Option 3:
Wall Socket 1 -> Surge protector -> ADSL
Wall Socket 2 -> POTS Filter -> Surge Protector -> Phone

Or even option 3 ???

Txs

the risk is on the line at the wall socket so it should be protected there your POTS will be protected aswell what you shoul also do is protect your ADSL on the power side there are surge protectors that do both look like a glorified AC Adapter with a phone socket ... incredible deception had them when i was there last

I already have a R500 (overkill I know) Surge protector for all 5 PCs at my house ... I'm just wandering about the telephone wire now ... cos I got one of those phone/socket protectors that you are talking about with the phone ... so I'm just wandering what plugs in where ...

plug wall socket to protector protector to filter ....
plug power for ADSL modem into the AC socket ...

the protector is then between you and the outside ... the way it should be
