Line management to Telkom or ISP

Hey guys can you provide some input and suggestions as topic states

currently my line is with telkom 20M VDSL, monthly rental as follows:

R499 20m line
R189 line rental

Is it worth handing the line to ISP for management? Obviously the price drops

by abit. Another question is lets say for arguments sake, my line is handed over

to VOX can I still use multiple ISP when my line is with them?

This ^. Sure, it costs a little more but you won't be sorry. You will be if you move it to the ISP at some point or another.

You can still use multiple ISPs no matter who your line is with.
Just note that Telkom changed its policy a couple of days ago, transferring between Telkom and an ISP can result in up to a weeks downtime (might be 5 min as well though, who knows).

If your line is troublesome, keep it with Telkom. If you basically never have a fault, feel free to transfer it to an ISP.

Um no.

Might take two weeks to transfer, but no more than two days downtime.
 
haha ok majority if not all says leave with Telkom. noted :D

You sure its about 2 days? I'm moving to a new ISP at the end of the month and my line is going back to telkom, but i would like to save money on having the ISP manage the line.
 
guys while on the thread i started, as stated I have a 20m vdsl which is only just upgraded recently.

So I am still on the fence about which package to sign up for. I initially wanted to get capped solution

but I also wanted to get some feedback on uncapped 20m VDSL. Is uncapped even worth getting on the

20M VDSL (i was previously on 4m uncap mweb)? doing some homework i see that currently VOX/Cybersmart

seems to offer the fastest speeds, besides the 2 can any forum members recommend a good capped ISP at a reasonable price?

Well i see it has already been said a number of times yes keep the line with Telkom. I'll just add the fact that my line is with Telkom and when i have faults and the line is down I get credit on my next invoice for no service, and I do not even have to nag them for credit they just push it through (I think the faults and billing are linked on the system side) . I doubt that happens when your line is with the ISP, i've seen people complaining about paying for no service.

If you want to save 25% on your adsl while keeping the line with Telkom just commit to a 12 months retentions contract with the Telkom Options center via 10210.

I save R189 per month on a 10Mbps line....
