Hi Aokiji
Telkom have introduced a holding pool for all ADSL services moving between service providers.
Whenever a customer wants to move their ADSL the current service provider will have to submit a migration order which will move the ADSL service into the holding pool. This potentially means the customer could experience down time of up to 10 working days during a migration process.

Sounds like a load of Bull to avoid losing a line. I've spoken to telkom directly and there should be no down time, so long as the new ISP picks the line up within 5 days.
PM TelkomZA for confirmation on your line.
I can confirm this is how it works, except for the 10 day downtime bit but i guess it could happen, you never know. Your line will go down but if you get on the phone with telkom right away they pretty much immediately activate it again.
Morning Gents, the old process did not have any downtime.
As per the communication we received from Telkom, the client will have downtime when moving line using the new process.
I have picked up a few anomalies, whereby the client is still connected during this time. However, officially the client should have up to 10 working days downtime.
