Line noise

Can someone tell me how I explain to telkom that I have line noise. I can connect to the internet, if I ping websites it timesout or drops 3 of 4 packets, if not all. Telkom techy says there's nothing wrong. If I pick up my telephone there's a loud buzz. Is there some app or way to demonstrate to the techy that its not my pc but the line? Its so frustrating dealing with Telkom!
 
login to your router and check out the line attenuation and noise on there... that's evidence enough
 
does the noise stop when u switch the modem off?
 
Log a voice fault not an ADSL fault. Tell them that the line crackles and you can hardly hear anything!

This ^^. Don't even mention ADSL to them as this will set them off on a tangent, just tell them your adsl is fine but you can hardly hear any voice due to the crackle/hiss.
