Hi, I have been on a 20mb DSL line from Axxess for about 6 months now. My profile was set to 20 mb ADSL2+ but never updated to VDSL. The reason I specifically wanted VDSL was the higher upload speed (2mb vs 1mb on ADSL2+) and even bought a Billion VDSL modem. Anyway, my line was syncing happily at around 18mb, could go higher if I played with the SNR stats (modem has the option to force an SNR) but 18mb was perfectly stable. Anyway, I contacted Axxess requesting them to get my profile switched to VDSL, they said they'd email Telkom about it and couldn't do anything more about it as it was up to Telkom.
Now my line is only syncing at 12478 kb/s and the profile is still on ADSL2+!? The SNR and attenuation haven't changed and my modem gives my attainable speed as 20 mb, but it won't sync at faster than 12478? VDSL is definitely enabled on my modem.
Thank you so much Axxess, you sold me a 20 meg VDSL line, couldn't provide the service, weren't particularly helpful and managed to make it worse? Honestly this has ruined my view of Axxess, your site specifically says that 20mb lines are VDSL enabled knowing full well that there is a good chance you will never be put on a VDSL profile. The chap I dealt with argued with me and said ADSL2+ is identical despite my stating the upload speed is higher on VDSL. Only believed me when I sent him a link which proved he was wrong. Absolutely useless.
What do you guys recommend I do about this, has this happened to any of you before?
