So I'm testing a particular business uncapped offering, but I'm getting some strange results. It's supposed to be a 4mbps offering. However . . .
Browsing is an absolute pain. Particularly when there are images on a page they take forever to load. MyBB took a good three minutes just to load. Photobucket won't load to upload my screenies. (Imageshack loads but then times out when I try to upload screenies.) However, here's the gist of it.
It takes forever to test latency, which it eventually produces at 418ms. Download speed reports 0.65 Mbps, and then after five or six minutes of doing nothing while trying to test upload speeds it eventually informs me: "Upload test returned an error while trying to read the upload file."
I can't even get a regular download started without the page timing out, but here's the real kicker: While all this testing is going on Newsbin is running happily in the background at 420 KB/s.
Now, last Friday my phone line went dead (both voice and data) and I reported it. Today I picked it up and had dial tone, and when I switched my modem on it connected to the Internet. However, at no time yet have I received an SMS from Telkom saying that the fault has been resolved. Should I assume that they are still working on the line and leave it in their hands still, or do I take these errors to the ISP?
Edit: Ping Test at least works. Not good though.
