Hi guys

I am having real problems with my line at the moment. The line drops randomly throughout the day for no apparent reason, only to reconnect a few minutes later.

Telkom technicians have been to my premises a few times but they cant get this sorted out.

Its a real pain in the...you know where.

Please help.

My line does that as well. I get an Error 678 message: Remote computer did not respond.

What area are you in?

I'm using a Billion 5200S router in bridge mode.

I am also having the same problems at work. I think my home and work are connected to the same telephone exchange.

Try the following commands to get some stats on the router.

show wan adsl linedata near (downstream)
show wan adsl linedata far (upstream)

Below is a legend of what is acceptable for an ADSL modem to function, if your line figures are different from the ones listed below it means you line quality is not up to standard:

show wan adsl linedata near
