Line speed in my area

Hi Forum

I plan to order DSL soon but I am unsure what speed is available in my area. I am fully aware that this depends on the exchange and the the cabling distance to it. I do not want to fall into the trap of say ordering a 4MBit line only to get out 1MBit later on. Obviously Telkom will not give a guarantee on a certain line speed. So users experience is probably the best bet.
Is there maybe someone in this stays in:

in or around Frangipani Street, La Montagne, Pretoria

to give me clue of what speed to expect.

Hmmm, now if you had dsl already we could have you post your SNR and noise ratios, I'm really not sure but maybe Telkom can answer that question for you. Give them a call and I'm sure they can tell you atleast something which may be usefull.
Otherwise go for the 384, find out the quality of line and then upgrade to 4mbit free of charge.
