I was wondering which one gets better line stats? The Pace 921VNX that Telkom supplies or the VMG 1312? I'm most likely only going to use it in bridge mode so those extra features don't matter but if I do then sick one has better wireless range?

I would say no - I feel the Internet username / provider will add more value.

On 20MB ADSL2+ my downstream attenuation went down 2db using a Netgear instead of the Pace.

If I log into my ISP customer portal, I see SNR etc that they report.

How do they get that, assuming different modems on my side can report different levels?

Tried a friends PACE and another's ZyXEL before I bought my ZyXEL and well the line stats where close, better on ZyXEL, but not so much that you would notice it, however overall the ZyXEL is by far more superior than the Piece of Crap PACE and has far more variables and settings you can use.

I dont have a Pace router, so cant really comment on the comparisons. Upgraded last week to VDSL and got me ZyXEL 1312 with 3G failover. All I can say the ZyXEL has much more features and pretty decent Firewall.

Here my line stats with the ZyXEL 1312
