The companies overseas that are offering these services still has to make a profit otherwise they would not have existed. It means that Telkom should be able to also offer unlimited local calls (at least) and still be able to make a profit.
 
Yep, despite local differences (and there are some like cost of labour - altho I'm sure it's way higher in the US), Telkomonopoly should be adding value to services exchanged for the consumer's hard earned cash, instead Telkomonopoly just takes & takes & takes & government sits back & says it is so easy to collect taxes in SA...
