You can export the ical in facebooks events and import it to GCalendar, the iCal link will stay up-to-date as long as you stay the same person on facebook. Only thing is you cannot edit them at all, the events are purely controlled by facebook, its effectively for display purposes only.

Yes I also did the iCal thing, but I quit it because it was not what I really wanted to do with it. I wanted the birthdays of my contacts linked to contacts in google and then display that on my calender. But iCal can't really do that.

If you have an android phone though, you can get facebook contact sync to do that.

Hmm, just saw that it doesn't really put it into your google contacts, it just displays on your android.

I think its android trying to be smart, at this point with the apps I have installed I have like 12 phone books, what I normally do is use the join function, but googles contacts always stay separate as far as data storage goes

Yes I know, but I would like to have the functionality in the contact list to click on a contact and sync all available data to google contacts. Because that is the default contact list on an android device.

At least I got something to sync my facebook photos to google contacts (syncmypix), but unfortunately you have to do it with an android phone. Will probably need to look for something else to do it with the birthdays.
