Hi @AfriGuy @AfriNatic

I have Link Layer as the FNO with you as the ISP. As of 1 March the FNO would have changed to Evotel as per your communications to me. No changes were needed on my side according to your comms also.

I have been experiencing intermittent breaks in my internet connection and intermittent poor speeds. Netflix, Disney also seem to suffer with buffering on my 100/100 Mbps line.

I did open a ticket (264194) last night and spent an hour with the rep troubleshooting incl. the rep refreshing my profile. This did not help. The Link layer tech came out today and tested the line. He cleaned the connectors and was able to get a power value improvement from 9 to 6 , plus his other readings were fine and he said that there are no issues with the line.

I've done a trace route and you can see how my traffic is bouncing around (pic1) - I suspect that the engineers with have done some routing or other config changes that are the issue here.

I am also attaching a second trace route (pic 2) - from another premises where link layer is the FNO and WebAfrica the ISP - clearly there is a huge difference and no issues with that connection

Hi.

Is the connection still intermittent?

Hi @Afrigirl ,

Seems like this was a Friday - Monday morning issue, internet seems to be fine so far and my tracert results are better

I did 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 respectively , just for a short bit but it was way better than the results from Saturday.

Can you provide any edge logs from Saturday like my AuthN and Afrihost Gateway logs ?

Thanks
Deven

Hi.

Thank you.
I have also allocated a public IP. Please reboot the router only to claim it.
You will monitor the public IP and let me know if you see any issues.

@Afrigirl , note that the connection has been stable so far.

I did get an email today from support and they said they refreshed my connection so I restarted my devices again and so far, the connection is still stable

I asked them to close the tickets. If I have any issues I’ll treat them as a new support query

Thanks for the new IP it helps and I’m not getting any captcha say “we noticed unusual activity on your ip “ any more !
