So I was checking out Linkedin today and was wondering if anyone ever been contacted on Linkedin for work or managed to get opportunities out of it?

I see most of the people I've worked with and for in the past has a Linkedin account

I have made good contacts and gone to interviews through LinkedIn yes. The work i do is quite niche and the circle of professionals in SA isnt very large so networks like that are invaluable.

Quite a number of recruiting agents have begun using Linkedin to find talent so its definitely worth a shot, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain the way i see it.

I think that it can be a powerfull marketing tool. Through Linkedin I have had discussions with collegues which I have seen >10 years ago. Although I haven't benefited through Linkedin yet, it can be used for getting into contact with professional people in your trade.

I had recruiters from the UK call me for job opportunities in JHB.

It works.
