Hey Guys,

Need some help here.

I currently have the above modem and consistantly lose connection on both ISP and Telkom line " this varies ". This has only started to happen since the telkom line upgrade was done. So i was wondering if the modem was not overheating..... as it seems to pick up different line speeds...... check below,

DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: ADSL2+
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 10011 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 1024 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 5 db
Upstream Margin: 8 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 20
Upstream Line Attenuation: 12
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 8128 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 1024 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 5 db
Upstream Margin: 8 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 24
Upstream Line Attenuation: 11
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 7424 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 1024 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 5 db
Upstream Margin: 7 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 24
Upstream Line Attenuation: 11
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

These 3 reading were all in the space of half an hour.

My speed test are always around 4.9 mb/s and 12ms ping it sometimes gets higher like 8.5 mb/s

I have 2 PC's and an x-box connected,

Firmware on the modem is the old Version as i can't update to the new version, " error " but the release notes don't mention any fixes that relate to this issue.

I see a number of guys have asked telkom to reduce line speed for stability is this the issue ?

Thanks

Steven
