I just lolled when I read the news about the latest rc5 of kernel 3.10, I'm going to quote it all, it is just to good!
Some Linux kernel releases are larger than others. Then there is Linux 3.10

Linus Torvalds released the fifth release candidate for Linux 3.10 on Saturday and he isn't impressed.

Linus Torvalds has already gone on record with his qualms about Linux 3.10. When he issued the first release candidate in May he was already concerned that it would be the biggest RC1 ever.

"So this is the biggest -rc1 in the last several years (perhaps ever) at least as far as counting commits go, even if not necessarily in actual lines (I didn't check the statistics on that)," Torvalds wrote in a mailing list message .

Now four release candidates and a month later, at a point where the release should be firming up - it's not.

"I wish I could say that things are calming down, but I'd be lying," Torvalds wrote. "rc5 is noticeably bigger than rc4, both in number of commits and in files changed (although rc4 actually had more lines changed, so there's that)."

More than half the changes are drivers and the other half are incremental architecture updates. Torvalds is adamant that he for the remainder of the Linux 3.10 cycle that things calm down.

"So the next pull request I get that has "cleanups" or just pointless churn, I'm going to call you guys out on, and try to come up with new ways to insult you, your mother, and your deceased pet hamster," Torvalds wrote.
