Linux on your Canon DSLR? Why not?

**** guys, I got all excited before fully reading the the comments / thread.
I apologise if this is an April fool joke.
 
Say you are the type of person hacking everything, even you kettle putting a webserver into your kettle, to log in over the network check temp, amount of water and boil, it would be great to get a camera under your belt.

Say it's true (your post), I guess for some then It would be great to have Linux on your camera (just because you can), but for that reason only. I battle to find great uses for it in the real world. I don't want to wait for Linux to boot to take a quick pic, and I can just imagine how much work would go into writing a program to make use of all the camera features at the correct time to take brilliant photos.

Many times, even build my own os/images for pc, windows phone, ect. (Making Vanilla editions)But I battle to see what new/better features i would be able to add, I'll much rather hack something else and add "missing" features.

I've read a couple of times about Magic lantern, really impressive stuff.
