Not good with linux but downloaded
linux_livecd_router_2.08 as apposed to IPcop or SmoothWallExpress

Setup the network but it only detected one net card using netsetup (if i remeber correct)
setup up "adsl connection" using adsl-setup
dialed using adsl-start and nothing happens

Is IPcop maybe easyer to use with gui or better?

As for the netcard not supprised it didn't find it is my onboard nforce card.

Will be using old box but wanted to test if practical on new box.

Thx in advance

no kidding. the stand-alone router distributions are not famed for their diverse hardware support. they work best with generic and/or popular network cards.

use ipcop - it's easy to use, no kafuffle.

about the new box thing - it's all about the hardware, which is your problem.

best of luck.

You could try SME Server, its lite weight and relatively user friendly.

Just make sure you download 6.01, its stable. 6.5 is far from stable. It should run on a P2 with 128MB Ram without any trouble.
