Linux shortcuts

Nitpicking here. This is not Linux, this is bash.
My solaris boxes have the same.

Ctrl-r is even better BTW. History search in the command line so you can rerun or edit a command

the up arrow key or the the command history or using rsync -avz --info=progress2 <source> <destination>

Ctrl + C
Ctrl + D
Ctrl + Z
Ctrl + R
Ctrl + A
Ctrl + E
Ctrl + W
Ctrl + U
Ctrl + K
Ctrl + L

Query, if that's ok?

How to keyboard-implant font characters in Ubuntu etc? Equiv. of Hold Alt + 4 digit code, release Alt found in Windows.

TIA

Managed to find it

...press Ctrl + Shift + U , then type the four-character code and press Space or Enter

I usually just use the character tool for the odd occasion that I need this.
It's likely that the specific shortcut that you found will differ from distribution to distribution.
