Linux stickers on cars

I'm driving a Datsun 1200 GX 1975 (Pale yellow and brown), and my older brother said that all I need now is a Linux sticker on the back. He thinks that it will fit the image....Really old car + Very neatly dressed programmer + Linux sticker. :confused:

Now the idea of it is stuck in my head every time that I walk to my car.
So the question is, will it be nice or just really really REALLY lame?

That does not fit the Linux image! :D

I run linux on my dev machine, but then again, I go to work in t-shirts!:cool:
 
If i would see a guy with a linux sticker on his car, i will just LOL at it.
Dont think it will be lame, it will just show your support for linux!
 
I would put the sticker on... but no one would get it. Most people I know in normal life dont even know what an OS is.

Really? Apple used to give a couple Apple logo stickers when you bought a computer and people seemed to recognise that branding a mile away.

Yeah, its pretty amazing what hundreds of millions in advertising on tellie can get you :D

Now ask the people who can identify the brand... what the main difference between a Mac and a PC are. You will mostly get "cause its pretty".

Again.. most people dont know what an OS is.

They know Windows is on their PC.... ask them "what is an operating system". Im sure loads of people know what an OS is... but from experience ... most people dont. Dont even try to refer to an email client as an email client. They look at you with blank looks.

Most people dont even know what the difference between outlook express and ms outlook are :( Ask them "open their browser" and you get more blank looks.

If you work in the industry... as you do, you would know all of this, but most people work outside in the industry.

I have to fix PCs all the time... saying something like "reformat the hardrive and reload the OS" will lead to questions like what's a format?, what's a harddrive?, what's an OS?

If my car can't look the part (well, not yet), then I have to ;)
A tie, pants, proper shoes and a neat cut feels kinda good. I like looking more professional than my managers when we're out to clients. :D

@ The rest, thanks for the responses. Somehow I can only picture a Mini Cooper with an apple sticker.

you post proves wizard's point. apple and MS have spent billions of dollars to make their brands known. yet i would be willing to guess that even though a number of people know apple, they would want Windows on their computers as to them that is synonymous with computers.

If you asked people what Leopard refers to when it comes to computers, I bet you those that know, know what Linux is. Those that don't Leopard only know Windows. And they have no idea what an OS is.
