Technology Solutions Company looking for a professional individual with the right attitude and ambition for a position at a large retailer.

Qualifications:
Technology related degree/diploma or Linux Certifications

Experience:
Linux specialist (SuSE enterprise server experience advantageous) - min 3 years experience
Experience in customer service / support

Required Technology Skills:
3rd Level support for linux infrastructure and internal application systems.
Troubleshoot and understand IT problems
Pro-active monitoring of system endpoints. (Nagios)
Firm understanding of the Linux kernel and environment
Bash scripting
Understand TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies (DNS, DHCP, TFTP, Multicasting, etc.)

Advantages:
Experience in administrating SLE distros
Experience in SLEPOS
Java monitoring and administration experience
IBM Websphere application server, MQ and DB2 administration experience
SQL skills and basic database knowledge (DB2)
Understanding XML

Other requirements:
Fluent in English
Professional individual
Enjoys working in a team oriented environment
SA citizen and must reside around Cape Town area
Good communication skills
Positive "can do" attitude

Expected output:
Become part of the team at a tier 1 retail organisation. Responsible for administering and enhancing the Nagios implementation.
Taking the lead on 3rd line investigations on the VBS Application, Linux servers & endpoints and supporting systems.
Work on implementing new projects when necessary.
General Linux Administration and Performance Tuning.
