Hi all

I am trying to connect to the internet via Neotel lite on Ubuntu 8.04. I followed the steps as set out for linux on neotel's site. My phone is listed in the usb devices, but after I run:

sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1010

and then list the usb devices

ls /dev/ttyU*

then I dont get any /dev/ttyUSB devices?

Does anyone have ideas I can try?

Thank you

The steps I followed is exacly as on the Neotel site. The problem is that even when I do everything as on the site, then my ttyUSB0 does not show up.

Execute dmesg and check is it maybe ttyACM0

Hey everyone. Problem is solved.

I don't really know how. I tried the phone on a windows comp- work fine. Then when I went back to Linux, the ttyUSB0 suddenly worked. Maybe some initialization on the phone?

Anyway, now I'm free of Microsoft and Telkom!
