Linux: Write failed: operation not permitted

Hi

I'm running Debian Sarge (AMD64) version. I'm using 0.4 of TheRodent's driver.

chat keeps on reporting: write failed: Operation not permitted.

I've seen this discussed in other threads, but with no resolution. Anyone know how to fix this? Is this a 64 bit issue?

This won't be really all that help full, but I have seen that same error occur in an Chat App I use to communicate with some friends in an MMORPG. And I've run this app on 64bit machines and older machines...
