LISTEN TO RADIO WITHOUT STREAMING

Hi guys and girls

I have a Samsung S2 which comes with a built in FM radio, which I can listen to without the internet .

I'd like to listen to something which is on AM/MW and would like to know if there's an app or something I can download which will allow me to listen to the station on AM/MW, without having to stream. I took a chance and downloaded an app from Google Play called "South African Radios" and had my internet on to begin with and then turned off the data and the station eventually stopped playing after a few minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Erm... no.

An FM receiver is just that, an FM receiver. Your phone does not possess the hardware necessary to receive an AM or MW signal.
 
No worries. ;)

And be careful with streaming - even a low quality stream will chew through about 100 megabytes every 3 hours or so.
 
Blinking heck - and thanks again Haptic (and Park :))! My cell bill is kinda high already (hence wanting to listen without streaming). I was going to listen via streaming just for a bit, there's something I want to listen to at 10am (I wasn't sure how much data it chows and I don't know how long the thingie is I want to listen to). I can do without the higher data bill though, so thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Made another plan, my boss has his Drifta here so I'm gonna "watch/listen" on CNN :)
