World’s fastest SUV? Lister reveals its F-Pace’s top speed

British motor company Lister claims that its new LFP – which is based on the Jaguar F-Pace – will be the “world’s fastest SUV”.

Lister confirmed that it would release the LFP “in the coming weeks”, adding that its take on the F-Pace would make 500 kW (670bhp) , hit 100 km/h from standstill in around 3,5 seconds and top out at a whopping 322 km/h. While the company’s choice of powertrain has yet to be revealed, it will likely take the form of Jaguar Land Rover’s 5,0-litre supercharged V8, albeit in suitably fettled guise.

The firm claims that “early prospective customer interest in the Lister LFP is already considerable”, prompting it to open its order book ahead of the official reveal of the model. Pricing is set to begin at around £140 000 (nearly R2,8-million), including “extensive carbon-fibre modifications” to reduce weight.

“I am delighted, overwhelmed and gratified by the huge level of interest, excitement and orders our LFT-666 supercar has already generated in just a few months,” said Lawrence Whittaker, CEO of the Lister Motor Company.

“Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon,” he added.

Lister set to produce world’s fastest SUV

UK sports car specialist Lister has made a bold promise to the world - soon it’ll be presenting the planet’s fastest road-going SUV, called the LFP.

Lister is keeping most of the details under wraps for now, but is enticing us with an estimated power output of 500kW, 0-96km/h time of 3.5 seconds and top speed of 340km/h.

The LFP will sport extensive carbon fibre modifications to keep weight to a minimum and although no mention has been made of the engine as yet, given that the vehicle is based on Jaguar’s F-Pace SUV, it’s a safe bet that power will come from a heavily modified version of Jaguar’s supercharged V8, which currently produces 405kW in the SVR model.

The LFP is currently available to order in the UK, with a price tag of £140 000 (R2.77-million).

CEO Lawrence Whittaker said: “I am delighted, overwhelmed and gratified by the huge level of interest, excitement and orders our LFT-666 supercar has already generated in just a few months.

“Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon.”

Lister LFP is a Record-Breaking SUV

British sports car manufacturer, Lister, has developed a raging-mad SUV called the Lister LFP that is presumably more powerful and faster than the lauded raging bull, the Lamborghini Urus.
The Lister LFP is based on the already-hardcore Jaguar F-Pace SVR which in standard guise, develops 405 kW and 680 Nm of torque from its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine. Lister has presumably tinkered with the SVR’s bits to now produce 500 kW. The torque figure for the Lister LFP is not yet known but will likely exceed the SVR’s 680 Nm by a fair margin.

The potent Lamborghini Urus, which offers 478 kW and 845 Nm from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, is capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds and will rage on to a top speed of 305 kph.

Comparably, the Lister LFP is said to sprint from zero to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds with the help of carbon fibre modifications and reach a blistering top speed of 322 kph, which if true, will make it the fastest SUV in the world. Few cars, supercars included, will be able to keep up with such brutal performance. Lister plans to fully reveal the LFP in coming weeks and production may be limited to 250 units.
