Comment:Firstly, my drive has a very loud, growling noise when there is a disc
spinning in it. It has done this since I got it roughly 2 years ago. Secondly,
I can`t write DVD RWs in the drive because Nero says the 4.7GB disc only has a
capacity of roughly 900Mb. It has the latest firmware and the DVDs work in
other drives fine. Also, Windows XP SP3 detects the disc as a Blank CD. I have
also tried to format the discs in the drive and Nero returned a "Command not
supported" error. A few retries later and it finally formatted one disc, but
still I have the same problem. Formatting the discs worked first time in
another drive. What can I do to rectify this issue? On a web search I found a
possible soloution of removing the drive in Device Manager in Windows and
re-installing the drive, and forcing a redetect of IDE drives in the BIOS. I
have not tried these yet.

Can you believe this? I asked them about I growling noise that I recieved with ANY disc in the drive, and they want me to move the drive to another computer. How on any planet - found or not - do they expect this to help?
AND they mentioned no advice on how to rectify the Nero problem. It took me hours to find a workaround to it.
