Can someone please advise, I am looking to buy a lithium ion battery but a little confused about the specs, I am looking at a 4.8kwh 48V Pylontech.
https://www.solarpanelenergy.co.za/p/913363/4.8kwh-pylon-us2000b-plus-li-ion-battery

Does the specs look okay, more especial the 50AH nominal capacity? I am used to the high capacity ratings of the regular lead acid/agm batteries, or does it not matter as it still amounts to the same kWh value?
It also seems like it is two 2.4kwh batteries that must be paired to give the 4.8kwh, is connecting them together in parallel recommended?

TIA

50Ah at 50 volts is 2.5 kwh.
Check that the unit has a built in battery management system. Remember you need a 48V inverter and charger.

Pylon warranty is for 70 percent depth of discharge if I remember correctly.

Thanks Sinbad, it looks like it is actually 2.4kwh at 50ah each that should be connected together to give the 4.8kwh or 5kwh if using 50V. Yes the order for the inverter with a built in charger is already in, unfortunately Sustainable.co.za does not have the stock for the 4.8kwh battery so I am looking elsewhere.

Supplier suggestions are also welcome if available, just called the solarpanelenergy guys in Vanderbijl and they are also out of stock.

Try for byd batteries as well. A bit more expensive but 100 percent dod warranty
