These are the best AA batteries in South Africa

Energizer Ultimate Lithium cells are the best-performing AA batteries that are also generally available in South Africa, but many alkaline cells offer an excellent compromise for low-power applications.

MyBroadband tested a range of AA batteries available from local stores and found one that stood out above the rest.

I keep a set of Energizers in my camera bag for just in case, but 95% of the time I'm using rechargeables.

Also, why is the same colour not used in the graphs for the Energiser batteries. The same colours are used in both graphs for the Duracell batteries.

Johnny come lately.
How many of those brands are even available here -

At a guess: Duracell, Energizer, Amazon Basics, Procell, Eveready, Varta, Panasonic, Harbor Freight Thunderbolt, Kirkland, Powerowl, Allmax, Bonai, Bevigor, Blinkspower, Ninmax, Tipsun, Enegitech, NRT, and Voniko.

At least pay the man royalties from all the clicks the article gets.

This is interesting, but what I'm really interested to know is how cheaper and "House Brand" Alkaline batteries perform in comparison.

For example: DQuip, Great Value, Super Power, Daily Power, Toshiba, Philips, GP, Romoss, Varta, ,Verbatim, Volkano, Kodak and Deli.

I expect that many of these brands will be significantly weaker, but in my experience, they're still great value since they're all significantly better than standard Zinc batteries.

One major issue with many is leaking long before the expiry date, so you have to use them while they're fresh.

Would it be possible to get better resolution graphs?
I've asked Wikus if his fancy test software can output graphs with bigger fonts and consistent colours. In the meantime, I've made the images clickable so it's easier to get the full resolution versions.

Surprised at how well some of these cheap Chinese alkaline brands perform, shelf life can be amazing. But go back a few weeks later and it's mostly or all new brand names. Would think that's about massive competition in China.

It would be nice if some rechargeable batteries can also be included, both the traditional type, and 1.5V USB rechargeable AA lithium batteries.
