Manager Rafael Benitez insists being part of a record-breaking 8-0 European rout does not guarantee a place in his Liverpool side.

The Anfield boss prepares for the arrival of struggling Fulham on Saturday in just the sort of position he loves.

He has players in form, others returning from injury and fierce competition for places.

Peter Crouch, named in the England squad on Friday, returned from exile to score twice against Besiktas in midweek but that will not automatically ensure he continues in Benitez's front line.

With the manager's rotation policy meaning he is now in the 90s in terms of changes he has made to his team line-up this season, Crouch, fit-again Fernando Torres, Andriy Voronin and Dirk Kuyt must wait for the team-sheet at Anfield to know whether they have made the first team.

why rotate a squad that kills a team 8-0?

BENITEZ has to leave and liverfool need a decent manager

what a joke

Must agree Benitez has got a really bad way of managing the team. The constant rotation even contributes to the injuries because not a single player on that team is having a constant routine. I don't support Liverpool but I really wish that some other manager could pull the team together. Liverpool has the potential to knockout Man Utd. and Chelsea, they just need a manager who can make up his mind.

the scousers arent calling for his head so they obviously got faith in the man, he has had some pretty good achievements... they aint spurs who sack their manager at every bad run
:)

alan seems to have faith in the man too

Oi I do not

He is a good manager but certainly ain't gonna win us the Prem that's for sure. Pity since he has the potential but he is a control freak. Won't trust his players to play their natural game. Hence why he likes players like Kuyt and Veronon who will run around all day and implement his tactics but completely lack any real technique and goal scoring potential.

If only he would let them play and select the best offensive players to play a direct offensive style then we could win the Prem with the addition of a world class winger, striker and CB/LB. When he has done this like in the last game against Basiktas( he was forced too) we blew them off the park. Add to that to outplaying Chelsea and destroying Derby already this season with those tactics why doesn't he just keep it that way?

Crouch has to start if Torres isn't available because Veronin and Kuyt need a proper striker to play off.

Lastly plenty of scousers are calling for him to go. Just check out the forums at http://www.liverpoolfc.tv ;)
