Sure you can. In fact it is preferable to cradle a lens with one hand instead of having two hands on the body. It relieves some of the strain on the mount.bwana - Agreed! Can't you hold them from the lens though? Don't some large lens even have the tripod thread on the lens itself?
Yes - buy try holding a camera with a 300mm f/2.8 at arms length for any time and you'll understand why I dont really consider Liveview as much of a feature on a dslr.
Last time I used liveview it was to level my pool table.![]()
Maybe it's not the best reason to buy a 7D . . . but it is fun
And don't forget it's usefullness in zooming liveview to 100+ % for focussing stars, on night shots![]()
