load Netflix app onto smart tv

Hi you can try and change your local to the US via a settings option the tv has then the application should be available via the store
 
AFAIK it's not possible with LG. They have locked down the regional settings of their sets, so it's not possible to change it.

It's not possible to do it. As Rodga posted the TV's are region locked and therefore you cant't change the region to any location that supports Netflix.
I have been searching the internet and have tried all sorts of things including trying to chnage it in the service menu, but it does not work on the new LGs.

So your best bet is to get yourself a streaming device to get Netflix.
 
Its possible to do it, but you need to reflash the firmware from USA region.
You'll also need a different remote to access the service menu's.

I'd suggest first get into the settings area, and see what regions you can change to. Its likely for South Africa, that we have a european set, so you may find UK, Finland, Norway, Sweden or Denmark as options. Changing to one of those will give you different options available app wise.

I'd avoid firmware flashing, as you need to know what you're doing, and know what panel is in the set etc (not all models have the same panels/controllers etc)

I don't own a LG. I've had Samsung's with similar issues though (region locking etc) that I've had to *fix* cough.

As mentioned above, I tried this also but my 2013 LGs do not allow to change the region to anything but ZA.

In order to do this you can use a One for All remote (which I picked up at Makro) and follow the instructions posted above.
For me, after a few days of trying back and forth I lost my patience and went for a Roku.

It seems that the only way might be to flash it but I don't want to brick my TV.

If you find anything else please let me know.
