Load-shedding could continue for the next week - Eskom

These owkes are definitely embattled, I mean who wouldn't be when you are choosing your 2020 Mercedes Benz, so many models so little money and that damn waiting list....
Though I am sure by the end of the week they will have the finance arranged

Boiler tube leaks take a minimum of 3 days to fix.

Diesel is low and can't be replenished soon.

Water reserves are low and can only be replenished if there is enough coal power available. With loadshedding until 11pm, there isn't enough time to pump water overnight.

Steenbras is going under maintenance next week which will end in MAY NEXT YEAR !

What kind of maintenance takes 6 months ?

So from next week we will no longer be one stage below the rest.

City of Cape Town 'will do its best' to help during week of load shedding

The City of Cape Town said that it will again do its best to help City-supplied customers during Eskom’s load shedding.

The City of Cape Town said that it will again do its best to help City-supplied customers during Eskom’s load shedding, which has resumed and is expected to continue for the rest of the week in Cape Town and across the country.


The City is currently able to add additional generation capacity to the electricity grid which means that City-supplied customers are affected by Stage 1 load-shedding and not Stage 2.

The City said that it is able to assist this week to soften the impact from Eskom’s load-shedding on City-supplied customers due to spare generation capacity from the Steenbras Hydro-electric Power Scheme.

Planned maintenance of the plant, however, starts from next week and is expected to continue until May 2020.

So we have a client in Zone 16 Cape Town which is meant to have loadshedding from 4pm - they are still up.

How am I supposed to call whether to shut their servers and network down if City can't give reliable information ?!

Depends on what maintenance they are doing.

At least Cape Town maintains its infrastructure.
 
The irony of the power cuts is great! If they think we are fools to believe that there are actual problems with their ability to produce power, then they take us for kindergarten students.

The latest round of forced power outages serves further proof that they need to be dramatically overhauled. Cut the sloth! Lay sword to the swine who smite us with this scourge, I say! Bastards!
