Load shedding - no water !!!!!!!!!!!!

We've had no water since 7 am this morning . Apparently it will continue until 5pm today . The local office says the reservior is low and the pumps are not working because of load shedding - WTF THERE IS NO LOAD SHEDDING TODAY STUPID F...

You should know by now that everyone blames Eskom for everything these days! Even the US recession!

That's what I had to do yesterday, well not bowling specifically, but I was sitting at home surfing away on the net being a lazy bugger when the power went off. I knew I had two hours with no computer or TV so I was forced to get in my car, go to the nearest shopping centre and spend money.... looking back this load shedding may in fact be good for the economy, or bad, as it is forcing us to get out and spend money!

So load shedding is responsible for the increasing inflation too

And it is usually scant consolation but things could be a lot worse... I saw a newspaper headline today saying some town in Natal has been without water for weeks....

For as long as I can remember we'd be without water for a day or so while they did maintenance or repairs. These things happen. You are dealing with things that corrode and age with time and failures are bound to happen.

Could I ask you what you would like them to do besides send out tankers? And don't reply by saying ensure things don't go wrong to start with otherwise I will refer you to my paragraph above.

By the way, where there is a will there is a way. If you really wanted to leave you could make a plan.

I was quite happy to chat along when he mentioned the water problem he was having. It was his last post which all of a sudden turned into an attack on the government and mention of emigration. And it is not even the main "guvamint" (as you all like to call it) that would be to blame here but his local or provincial government.

So what if you do not have water for a day? I bet it happens all over the world. Or do you think the piping or pumps they use does not corrode or need replacing and repair?

The OP stated that "load-shedding" was given as the reason. Trying to detract attention from that with banal rhetoric and "it happens all over the world" amounts to nothing because we live here.

The term "chatting" is an overly optimistic take on the proffering of inane platitudes about the U.S. recession etc.

Can you please explain to me how a reservoir can get empty if the pump is down a mere 2hours out of 48? Managers are supposed to do just that - manage a situation - if they did any planning at all they would have ensured there was backup power to avoid this situation [if the reasons they give are correct - which I think is absolute BS]

Also, only certain areas are affected

A legitimate complaint would be if you permanently had no access whatsoever to running water...

Yours was a complaint, which I acknowledge, but it is definitely far from the end of the world as we know it!
