Load shedding to be suspended

Next week's stage 6 eskom tweet:

"After a dazzling 6 whole days with the lights gloriously ablaze, Eskom has encountered another unforeseen temporary little hiccup"

Why can't the tripping issue be fixed? I'm sure the ongoing expense has been enough to cover the cost of proper fixes several times over.

Hmm?

I'm guessing... Not enough reserve capacity for lengthy fixes. And at the same time trying to sell as many units as possible. Even discouraging people from generating their own power. All to maximize unit sales. Because so many units are given away for free. Or stolen. And so many municipalities pocket the money. Or have out of control illegal connection issues. And there's always the losses due to corruption at power plants to shore up.

A fine mess.

A FIIIIINE mess. You couldn't design a better mess. No... It's apathy, negligence, anarchy and a good dollop of unaccounted greed that led to this. TIA.

Sadly not. Thanks to the ANC destroying public services and policing and organised crime syndicates have taken over our cities and towns. Copper will continue to be stolen, Lack of maintenance and collapse of infrustructure will continue to bless us with no power.

Vavi! Amanda!

Just in time for the G20 Finance ministers meeting:

Eskom suspended load shedding on Wednesday at 5 am.

It confirmed the decision just after 4 am in a statement, saying the suspension follows a “recovery of generation capacity and the replenishment of emergency reserves”.

The move also comes just as SA hosts the ‘B20’ and G20 finance track events in Cape Town, which are key run-up forums to the main G20 Leaders Summit in Sandton later this year.
