Load shedding warning for winter

I'm happy to put my money where my mouth is. If there isn't any loadshedding by Tuesday next week, I will donate R500 to a charity of @Lupus's choice.

If there is loadshedding before then, @Lupus will you be happy to donate R500 to Orania?
 
Rules are simple: the charity/organisation has to confirm receipt of the donation

Edit: the donation must happen within a week from Tuesday

If you'd been actually looking at the numbers and things you'd have seen a gradual improvement on the EAF. It's not great but it's a marked improvement over a year ago and even 2 years ago.
So yes less loadshedding is due to Eskom having more resources online right now, it can change, demand and other issues, but they'd have to lose 10% rather quickly

Why would I want to donate to Orania?
Currently power alert looks like this, on average 6GW better than last year

I'm not putting bets down as it can change and you numpties would be instantly like see see we told you.
Instead of actually looking at the numbers and following the data, you'll shout conspiracy theories.
I've also said that there is a possibility of loadshedding this winter as demand increase can push the system over. We've come close over this last 2 months but there has been sufficient backup. They are not burning diesel in excess, they can't even do that anyway, we saw what happened over the RWC when they did use diesel for an extended week.

Sure, I've only spent a long time looking at data and moaning about Eskom for nigh on 4 years, tried to work out predictions and figure things out. It's not like I just hopped on last week and went hey Eskom is doing well. I've been tracking things for a long time.
Months before the elections there has been improvements in EAF, the planned outages were really high from Dec through to March, plus they had long time outages resolved.
Summer this year is going to be fun again as they need to take off Kusile units to go back to the new flues, possibility of shedding is high.
Plus next week Gauteng is going into a mild cold front which will increase demand, that could lead to load shedding. Even with the current units online as we've cut it close in other days, so if demand goes up 3GW rapidly we will have at least stage 2 in the evenings.

you using logic and reason when load shedding in NOT logical and reasonable,
I get it, you want to stay hopeful, your heaters and lights stay on, dont need to trudge out there start the genset, in the cold

problem is this load shedding is a tool, an effective one that hits the entire population from top to bottom,
kneel before the ANC or we cut your power and make you all suffer,

sorry to say this but the ANC found something they can squeeze to make people suffer, and unfortunately its a big one.
now yes I could be saying conspiracies, but if you look at it logically, why is there load shedding when there shouldn't be?

and you assuming the graphs you so lovingly study are accurate, if anything we have learned the ANC are lairs
why over analyze it? the ANC can turn off the lights whenever they damn well please and there isnt a lot people can do.

again, call me a Conspiracy nutjob all you want and I relish doom and gloom as much as you think I do.

BUT, lets use your logic and reason here, why did load shedding start? why did it stop?
what changed? think a bit here, and realize, not a whole lot actually, some new power stations came online, sure, but they didnt make a difference, and then they did,

what does that tell you, logically? that its all lies, how can we go from load shedding constantly to no load shedding to load shedding again,
unless the graphs are a lie, the communications are a lie, everything is made up bullsh1t and people actually eat it up for breakfast.

look I get it, I relish it? no, I actually don't, Id love for the lights to permanently stay on,
but we all know that that's a fantasy, if their earlier predictions are to be believed,

so who do you believe now?
Eskom of Now or before, becuase lets be fair here, they did tell us there is a serious problem, then there wasnt, then amazingly enough no shedding.
