Eskom spokesperson Tony Stott, announced this morning that a 2nd Koeberg unit is down. He requested that all appliances be switched off!
(no cooking, no bathing, no TV, no sweet blow all......)

As from Monday we are going to experience load shedding like never before!

SO, BE PREPARED!

Confusion reigns as with all things Eskom, lies and reality are so intertwined that it's virtually impossible to grasp either.

1) Big hoohaa about load shedding to return.
2) Big hoohaa about switching off all appliances
3) Big hoohaa about Majuba and Dhuva power stations to be shut down/partially shut down for maintenance/repairs over the next few weeks.
4) Eskom indicator has been in the green for the past 26 hours
5) Eskom contradicts points #1, #2 & #3 and announces no imminent power cuts.

My guess is, come Monday/Tuesday, we will see power cuts.

Koeberg 2 is back up and running! We have been given a reprieve... for now!

Eskom : On Wednesday we had technical failures on generating units at Majuba Power Station (669 MW generating capacity) and Duvha Power Station (585 MW generating capacity). At Majuba a submerged scraper conveyor which removes ash from the bottom of the boiler jammed. The unit was brought back on stream this morning (Thursday, 24 July). The unit at Duvha had a boiler tube leak and is expected back on stream by the weekend.

It amazes me that people still take anything these clowns say seriously.

BTW the Majuba and Duvha problems where published in yesterday's press (Saturday) so if they where brought back online on Thursday morning, why did Eskom release a statement 2 days later?

Ha !! and you believe everything you read in the papers ;)

The press release was released on the 24th, and amended on the 26th (late).
