Hi all,

Anyone in Pretoria (East preferably) who would be willing to lend me a VDSL router/modem for 24 - 48 hours?

My connection drops constantly (anything from every 15 minutes to a few hours).

My ISP is trying to tell me it's my router but I don't agree. The onus is of course on me to prove this though, but I don't want to go needlessly spend the money on another router...

I would of course be happy to leave cash or an item of value as deposit.

Much appreciated
Patric

Use this program to monitor the noise margin on your line.
http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm#routerstatslite
With it you can monitor and graph the noise margin and sync speed over a period of time and use it as proof to convince your ISP.

No, I spent about 5 minutes fiddling and then stopped. Sadly as much as I might want I don't have time to fiddle with this right now.

Thanks for the info, if I get time in the next few months I'll have a closer look at this.
